Personal Trainer

Put your passion for fitness to work and become a certified personal trainer. The National Academy of Sports Medicine 80 hour, comprehensive course covers topics such as biomechanics and physiology while utilizing a hybrid online and in class approach: learn the material in your online courses, review the information in class, and participate in a show-tell-do approach to the practical training at a local gym facility. The national certification will be issued after the successful completion of the written & practical skills exams, proof of CPR/AED certification. Access to a computer and a valid email account outside of class is required. 30 hours will be completed in class and 50 hours will be completed online. “I really enjoyed taking the Personal Trainer Certification course at Columbus State University. Most classes for Personal Trainers only last one weekend, but I learned so much more in the 6-week course at Columbus State than I could have ever learned in a one weekend course somewhere else. Our teacher was knowledgeable in the area of fitness and very approachable which made it easier to engage in the class. I’ll say it was definitely worth not sleeping in on Saturdays because now, I am working as a Personal Trainer! Thank you Continuing Education for your caring staff and for my certification.”
