Luckily, CSU’s Dance Conservatory offers convenient classical ballet classes year-round. Never considered ballet before? Here are a few facts about the exceptional benefits of ballet that could make your decision a lot easier.

  • Children learn to follow instructions. Ballet is an art of precision, grace and discipline, and your child will learn to follow the directions of their instructor to learn new positions. It takes work and practice to learn ballet, and our instructors work with children individually to help them gain the confidence and discipline needed to explore all the different forms and movements in classical ballet.
  • Ballet improves coordination, balance, flexibility and confidence. Your child will become more confident in how their body moves, and will have an edge on their peers if they decide to pursue a different activity or sport. They will also begin to become comfortable with performing in front of people, which can help lessen fears of public speaking or other types of performance as they progress through school. Throughout all of this, your child will be getting their recommended 60 minutes of physical activity per day each time they come to class.

When children are young, learning new things is easy for them. They can adapt to new things and learn quickly. When a child begins ballet at an early age, they are not only learn a wonderful art form but also prepare themselves to be successful in all aspects of life.
