Homeland Security for the Private Sector Certificate
Begin your new career in this emerging field. In order to earn a Homeland Security for the Private Sector Certificate, ten classes for a total of 84 contact hours must be completed. Upon completion of the curriculum, you will be certified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State of Georgia as a trained responder in the case of an emergency.

Introduction to Homeland Security

Discover the answer to these and other concerns in this introduction to Homeland Security. Learn about the history and development of Homeland Security, as well as the responsibilities of the government, of private industry, and of citizens. This class will also provide an overview of and foundation for the Homeland Security for the Private Sector Certificate.
Introduction to the National Incident Management System (IS 700 & IS 800)
The National Incident Management System (NIMS) provides a consistent nationwide template to enable all government, private-sector, and non-governmental organizations to work together during domestic incidents. Discover how proper planning via the National Response Framework contributes to national preparedness when it matters the most.
Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS 100)
The Incident Command System (ICS) provides direction and authority in a multi-agency response to a local, state, or national disaster. This course describes the history, features and principles, and organizational structure of the Incident Command System and provides the foundation for higher level ICS training. It also clarifies the relationship between ICS and the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
Incident Command System for Single Resources & Initial Action Incidents (ICS 200)
This course is designed to enable personnel to operate efficiently during an incident or event within the Incident Command System (ICS). Personnel who are likely to assume a supervisory position within the ICS in emergency planning, response or recovery efforts will be trained on the scope of their duties, how to effectively lead and manage in a crisis, and what they can expect from assisting support personnel.
Intermediate Incident Command System (ICS 300)
A working understanding of the Incident Command System (ICS) at the intermediate level will assist with resource management in a multi-agency response. Establish protocols for information flow and reporting in a unified command that works efficiently no matter how many jurisdictions are responsible for action.
